About the Team
Our mission on the Marketing Orchestration Platform team is to create tools and technologies that all Marketing Hub teams can leverage to level up the product. We specialize in collaborating across many teams, and finding reusable solutions for shared problems. Platform is currently focused on leveling up the collaboration tools within HubSpot.
We are looking for a Technical Lead II who has a passion for distributed systems and cross organization collaboration. If that's you, apply.
Key Expectations for Technical Lead II:
- A Tech Lead II is a player-coach responsible for leading a small team.
- They are recognized as high-performing engineers.
- They collaborate with Product, Design, Data Science, and other Tech Leads in their family to define and share relevant, compelling, and challenging goals for their team.
- They work across teams with other TLs to resolve cross-team issues.
- They proactively take ownership of their team's on-call health and product reliability and quality.
- They have an interest and opinion in the direction of the product. They do not defer this over to the PM or PD or others. Instead, they are an active member of the team's leadership triad, co-setting the direction for the team.
- They proactively look to grow the members of their team to enable them to take on harder and harder tasks.
- They are creating and fostering diverse teams and an inclusive culture.
We're looking for:
- A strong senior engineer with experience leading small teams using Java
- Open to experimentation and new ways of doing things. Values a working solution much more highly than the optimal solution.
- A thirst for technical challenges in machine learning and distributed systems
- A customer-centric attitude and someone who can develop opinions about the HubSpot product
- An understanding of building reliable systems in a complex architectural space
