Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to provide architectural direction and hands-on leadership for backend, API, and cloud-based solutions. The role involves designing scalable systems, guiding development teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with business and technical objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own overall technical architecture and solution design
- Lead the design and development of scalable RESTful APIs
- Provide hands-on development using Python and AWS serverless services
- Design and implement event-driven architectures, including webhooks
- Define and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and technical documentation
- Ensure solutions adhere to security, performance, and scalability best practices
- Review code, mentor engineers, and enforce coding standards
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and client stakeholders
- Support integration of APIs with AI-enabled workflows where applicable
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of professional experience in Python backend development
- Strong expertise in AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, and S3
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs at scale
- Solid understanding of event-driven architectures and webhook implementations
- Proficiency with OpenAPI/Swagger and API documentation standards
- Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or similar AI integration patterns
- Experience with cloud-native security and entitlement models
- Prior experience in data, finance, or research-driven platforms
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership
