The primary purpose of the role is to ensure the smooth operation of all Delegated arrangements and to act as focal point alongside the Head of DUA for all Delegated Underwriting facilities written both in the London Market and Internationally.
The role is technical compliance, and advisory. Learning, development and support of the more junior members of the onboarding operational team is expected.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITES:
- Overall responsibility for the technical aspects of all DUA arrangements written.
- Acting as subject matter expert within the CUO office for all delegated arrangements – including but not limited to binders, lineslips, consortia and overseas offices requesting Serv Co status.
- Advise and assist the CUO office, where appropriate, in the onboarding of all new DU Arrangements being presented by Underwriting Divisions.
- Assisting the Head of DUA in the maintenance of documentation for all Delegated arrangements.
- Review documentation for the CUO office on all Delegated Underwriting matters.
- Attend and give verbal reports based on the above to Underwriting Committee(s)
- Attend, provide feedback and answer any questions at Underwriting Committee(s), Product Oversight Group and Contract Oversight Committee meetings.
- Providing technical assistance to the Head of DUA for all Pre-Bind aspects of delegated underwriting.
- Ensure documented procedures for DU team are up to date with developments within Lloyd’s.
- Assist the Head of DUA to manage the relationship with Asta Managing Agencies DU Team for Everest Syndicate 2786.
- Assist pre-bind business process for all DU arrangements in co-ordination with relevant stakeholders and in conjunction with the Head of DUA.
- Assist the Head of DUA with the alignment of managing and maintaining the outsourced relationships for DU business within Everest International.
- Oversee alongside the Head of DUA, new and renewal business for all DU arrangements.
- Assist where required, the DU team in the coordination of Profit Commission requests received from brokers or underwriters.
- Assist underwriting teams in their DU quarterly review meetings, where required.
- Receive and disseminate DU market and regulatory information, with particular focus on Lloyd’s, to Active Underwriter, Head of DUA and key Everest Stakeholders.
- Design education material fit for different stakeholders based on their knowledge and understanding of DU.
- Assist the Head of DUA in overseeing all DU audits, both coordinated processes and Audits taken in silo.
- Present and train Everest Stakeholders on Delegated Underwriting, where required.
- Aiding adherence to the 13 principles of Doing Business at Lloyd’s.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Solid knowledge of all aspects of Delegated Underwriting.
- Solid knowledge of Lloyd’s operating model.
- Strong technical background, ability to think proactively and offer solutions to problems.
- Highly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organisation as well as with external stakeholders, in particular brokers and Coverholders.
- Ability to adapt and embrace change.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates respect for the opinions of others.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
