The Technical Evaluator supports the Technical Operations team by performing quality control (QC) checks on broadcast, streaming, and theatrical SDR/HDR assets. This role ensures media meets technical standards, troubleshoots basic issues, and collaborates with internal teams to maintain smooth workflows under general supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming QC on broadcast, streaming, and theatrical assets using specialized software and tools.
- Collaborate with Technical Evaluation and Post-Production teams to troubleshoot media issues.
- Manage work orders and priorities through ScheduAll and email communication. · Document QC findings and communicate asset-related issues across teams.
- Attend weekly meetings to review workflow priorities and deadlines.
- Complete work orders and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in post-production and quality control.
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere CC, After Effects, Colorfront Transkoder, Tektronix, Vantage, and Media Encoder.
- Familiarity with UHD-HDR workflows, file and tape-based codecs, and MAC/PC platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under changing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in television production.
- Knowledge of MediaPulse, Elements, and VPS systems.
- Familiarity with waveform monitors, video scopes, and audio/video monitoring equipment.
- Strong customer service and client relations skills.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Video/Film Production, Communications, or related field; or equivalent experience.
Preferred Education:
- Additional certifications or coursework in post-production, broadcast engineering, or HDR workflows.
