Guided by our values We care, We dare, We deliver, we encourage you to take ownership of your career. We support lifelong learning and give you the space to grow in a way that matches both your ambitions and the needs of our global projects.
Within our Safety by Design (SBD) team, you’ll join a small, highly technical group that looks at engineering from another angle: ensuring every vessel and installation is designed with safety, accessibility and maintainability in mind — from the first sketch to the final build.
As a Technical Engineer - Safety by Design, you assess and improve the ergonomic design and technical safety of both newbuild and existing vessels and installations. You translate 2D plans into 3D insights, challenge project teams where needed and ensure all designs meet DEME’s Safety by Design standards.Your responsibilities

Translate your findings into clear recommendations integrated into the design & build process.
Collaborate with engineering teams, ship owners, managers and crews to reinforce a strong safety culture across all activity lines.
Use drawings, sketches or 3D visualisations to bring your ideas to life and help others understand the proposed improvements.
