Job Details
The Defense Technology Development group has a need for a Technical Documentation Controller to support bill of materials (BOM) creation and product documentation. This is a fast-paced role where good organization skills, excellent written communication and the ability to work with people across a range of disciplines is essential. You will work with optical, electrical and mechanical engineers and operations staff to help document R&D projects for transition to manufacturing. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent written communication skills to support these activities. A technical degree or background is not required and individuals with non-traditional career paths will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Interface with engineering and operations staff to build bill of materials (BOMs) and gather documentation
- Assist the engineering team in creating external facing technical documentation including ICDs and product specification sheets
- Support compliance activities by ensuring proper documentation is captured
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Ability to quickly switch priorities and excel in a fast paced and changing environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate and work with a wide range of individuals
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- Experience in technical development environment
- Experience generating a bill of materials and collecting supporting documentation
