We are looking for an experienced Technical Business Development Manager to join our Engineering Services (Onshore) team. Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, you will play a key role in developing new business opportunities and strengthening existing client relationships across the onshore electrical engineering sector.

Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new client opportunities while growing existing accounts
- Act as the technical lead during early engagement, providing front‑end technical support
- Prepare, manage and submit technical proposals, tenders and quotations
- Lead and manage the Engineering Services bid process from opportunity to award
- Work closely with internal Business Development, Engineering and Marketing teams
- Maintain accurate opportunity and CRM data, including weighted forecasts
- Represent the business professionally at client meetings, industry events and exhibitions
- Provide market, competitor and client intelligence to support growth strategy
- Travel to client sites across the UK as required
What we’re looking for
- Qualified Electrical Engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar technical or business development role
- Strong technical knowledge across LV/HV systems and electrical engineering standards
- Commercially aware, with the ability to identify value and cost-saving opportunities for clients
- Confident interpreting scopes, drawings, specifications and calculations
- Proven ability to develop technical solutions and convert them into winning proposals
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills
- Self‑motivated, professional and comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Full UK driving licence
Qualifications (preferred)
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering
- Ongoing commitment to professional development
- IEng or CEng registration (desirable, not essential)
- Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. IET)
