The Role

At Milwaukee Electronics, our mission is Accelerate, bringing innovations to life from prototype to production and expanding what’s possible for our customers, our people, and our communities.

The Technical Business Solutions Manager plays a critical role in advancing this mission by translating business needs into scalable, reliable software solutions that support quality, operational excellence, and customer success. This role reflects our values of One Team, Take Ownership, Seek to Serve, and Go Beyond through strong partnership, accountability for outcomes, and continuous improvement.

This is an on-site role in Canby, Oregon, at an electronics manufacturer specializing in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA). The company’s technology ecosystem spans e-commerce, CRM, ERP, MES, BI, and automated factory systems, offering the opportunity to work across both modern and legacy platforms.

The Technical Business Solutions Manager is a senior, hands-on technical leader operating at the intersection of business operations, software engineering, and enterprise systems. The role serves as an embedded technical partner to the business while collaborating closely with centralized and offshore software engineering teams. It requires deep technical credibility, strong project leadership, and the ability to own solution delivery end to end, from problem definition through execution and adoption, ensuring measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnership and Solution Ownership
    • Act as the embedded technical partner for the business, developing a deep understanding of workflows, constraints, and priorities.
    • Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and solution plans across custom applications and enterprise systems, working collaboratively across teams.
  • Technical Solution Delivery
    • Take ownership of technology solutions spanning custom-developed applications, ERP extensions, integrations, APIs, and operational systems.
    • Contribute hands-on as needed through coding, technical design, debugging, and solution validation to maintain strong technical credibility.
    • Partner with enterprise applications and ERP services teams to design, extend, and integrate ERP systems, including custom code, workflows, and interfaces.
    • Apply continuous improvement and creative problem-solving to enhance reliability, scalability, and long-term value.
  • Software Engineering Partnership
    • Build strong working relationships with centralized and offshore software engineering teams through clear communication, shared accountability, and transparency.
    • Provide business context, technical direction, and prioritization for teams delivering the company website, CRM, quoting engine, ERP integrations, and external vendor APIs.
    • Participate in technical design reviews, backlog refinement, and delivery planning to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business needs.
  • Project and Delivery Leadership
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through deployment, coordinating business stakeholders, IT teams, and engineering resources.
    • Own delivery outcomes, including scope, timelines, dependencies, and risk management, ensuring solutions move from idea to production effectively.
  • Governance, Quality, and Enablement
  • Ensure solutions protect customer trust and operational integrity through strong attention to quality, security, compliance, data governance, and reliability.
  • Champion adoption through clear communication, training, and documentation, ensuring solutions are operationally ready and well supported.

    Required Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
    • Seven or more years of experience in software engineering, enterprise application development, or systems integration roles.
    • Strong hands-on background in software development, with the ability to read, write, and review production-quality code.
    • Experience delivering and integrating custom applications with ERP systems, APIs, and external platforms.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and guide engineering teams without being a people-only manager.
    • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate operational needs into effective technical solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills, with comfort working across business, engineering, and globally distributed teams.
    • This position is onsite Monday through Friday.

     Preferred

    • Experience in manufacturing or operations-driven environments.
    • Familiarity with ERP customization and integration, including Epicor or similar platforms.
    • Experience with web platforms, quoting engines, CRM integrations, and API-driven architectures.
    • Prior experience partnering with offshore or distributed engineering teams.
