Summary
We are seeking a versatile professional to join our team in the role of Technical Business Analyst. This position combines the responsibilities of a Business Analyst, Data & Reporting Analyst, Scrum Master, and Project Manager, requiring a well-rounded skill set and the ability to handle multiple facets of project delivery. Work on a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers and subject matter experts in an agile methodology to deliver on outcomes. Provide quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers to drive business decisions and address business questions with the ability to produce detailed data insight reports.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitates collaboration, communication, coordination, and planning with individuals and teams from different functions within the organization, and who have different areas of expertise, to achieve common goals.
- Perform thorough analysis to document current state, proposed future state, gap analysis, and supporting cost benefit analysis for project assignments within the endpoint space.
- Assist in producing actionable reports that show key performance indicators and identify areas of improvement into current operations. (PowerBI, Excel)
- Ability to articulate this knowledge as an expert at the department level and may be called on to provide insight at the enterprise level to provide detailed analysis.
- Partner with peer group, business partners and product management to learn business area/domain, while continuing to learn and grow knowledge across the enterprise.
- Take responsibility for gathering requirements based on facts, engaging with business stakeholders for all intake requests and internally identified projects.
- Author user stories and/or features independently and translates requirements to technical details to build and validate use cases around a product and communicates them effectively.
- Ensure acceptance criteria is met on all user stories prior to completion, including executing testing and validation as needed.
- Proactively support the solution engineering process, removing obstacles and barriers, and ensuring engineers meet defined deadlines.
- Lead team standups and other Agile ceremonies as required.
- Use project management principles to successfully complete and advance work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 Years prior experience working in a Business Analyst level role.
- Prior experience with research, data analysis and analytical tools including Excel, SQL, visualization tooling including PowerBI and Excel.
- Experience accessing, gathering, and analyzing data to develop insights into technical and business problems.
- Advanced experience in applying complex functions, pivot tables and extracting insights from data, power pivot, power query, VLOOKUPs, recording and editing macros and/or data visualization techniques in Microsoft reporting and analytics tools.
- Experience in connecting to databases, API calls, and PowerBI dataflows is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Scrum Master, or Project Manager in an Agile and/or Waterfall environment.
- Ability to lean on strong communication skills to influence outcomes while approaching conflict with organizational savviness.
- Certifications demonstrating mastery of role specific competencies.
- Deep familiarity of agile & scrum development environments.
- Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with project management tools and software, such as JIRA, Trello, or MS Project, is preferred.

$59,150.00
Pay Range - End:
$109,850.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
