This role is the critical bridge between business stakeholders and our RPA & AI Developers, ensuring automation and AI initiatives are accurately scoped, documented, and delivered. The Tech BA translates business needs into clear, actionable requirements, drives traceability across the delivery lifecycle, and catches gaps early—reducing rework, accelerating delivery, and improving solution quality.
Working closely with RPA and AI Developers, the Tech BA ensures process assessments, functional and technical requirements, and acceptance criteria are ready for development and testing, enabling engineers to build maintainable, secure, and high-value automation solutions.
Accountabilities:
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to elicit, analyze, and document detailed business and technical requirements for RPA and AI initiatives.
- Translate business needs and process assessments into clear, actionable specifications that RPA & AI Developers can build from immediately.
- Assess process suitability for automation, identifying inputs, outputs, exceptions, and decision logic ahead of development.
Workflow & Process Documentation
- Create and maintain process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and system interaction models for current and future state.
- Document business rules governing data processing, transformation, and validation, ensuring they are traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
- Produce structured documentation: Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and Traceability Matrices.
Collaboration with RPA & AI Developers
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the RPA & AI development team, clarifying requirements throughout design, development, and testing.
- Break down solution designs into shovel-ready user stories and backlog items with clear “ready for coding” signals.
- Support developers with clarification on process logic, AI/ML model expectations, and integration touchpoints (APIs, web services, databases).
- Detect “bugs on paper” early—identifying gaps and inconsistencies in requirements before coding begins to prevent costly downstream defects.
Quality Assurance & UAT Support
- Provide QA and testers with approved requirements and acceptance criteria so they can build high-quality test scripts.
- Review test cases and validate implementation against documented requirements; participate in defect triage and UAT.
- Support deployment and post-implementation reviews to confirm solutions meet business intent.
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain centralized, version-controlled documentation for onboarding, compliance, and ongoing support.
- Ensure data security and compliance requirements are captured early in the requirements process.
- Manage change by keeping requirements and documentation current as scope evolves.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst on IT, automation, or data engineering projects.

- Proficiency in diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN).
- Familiarity with APIs/web services, database integrations, and data concepts.
- Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project environments.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate) and an understanding of automation design patterns.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts such as machine learning, NLP, and intelligent document processing.
- Proficiency with delivery and collaboration tools such as Jira, SharePoint, and GitHub.
- Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
