Get To Know The Opportunity:
Your main purpose will be to provide leadership to the application development organization in developing lob applications used to support the Health Plan business. You will work closely with other groups within the organization to build solutions that integrate, leverage and contribute to existing platforms and information sources. For this role, you will be expected to work independently, have strong communication and presentation skills and be able to provide strategic direction for application architecture. Projects will be a mix between strategic and tactical solutions ranging from several days to several months in length.
Contributions You Will Make:
- Create and support a reference architecture used to create internal lob applications.
- Support application development and infrastructure services delivery teams in leveraging IT platforms.
- Support application development and infrastructure services delivery teams with troubleshooting and problem solving when needed.
- Expected to build a strong rapport with application and infrastructure teams, and business users.
- Participate in creating, maintaining, and disseminating technical policies and standards.
Minimum Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree is a requirement.
- 10+ years of experience in software development mostly using Microsoft tools, demonstrating increasing levels of technical responsibility, and involvement in application development and systems integration.
- Strong communication skills to facilitate effective communication with all levels of the organization, requiring tact, judgment, and composure.
- Strong hands-on experience building enterprise solutions including: web services, web applications, integration services, entity framework, webapi, JavaScript/ECMAScript and database access (examples required).
- Working experience with Healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of MVC pattern.
- Understanding and knowledge of various database technologies, relational, document store, no SQL data stores, etc.
- Strong knowledge and experience with application security (authentication and authorization), utilizing active directory (or any other similar technologies).
- Strong knowledge and experience with Multiple Java frameworks.
- Understanding of cloud technologies including DevOps tools and processes.
- Cloud certifications in Azure and AWS a strong plus.
- Experience with agile development methodology including scrum framework.
- Solid understanding of user-ergonomics and interface design (examples required).
- Demonstrable experience in drafting technical specifications documents (examples required).
- Capable of structuring and planning projects, managing and reporting on them throughout.
- Strong working knowledge of communication and flow chart diagramming techniques using Visio.
- Data architecture experience is a plus.
- This individual will have responsibilities across multiple products within the Healthplan, some travel expected to meet with users in other sites.
- The ability to handle changing priorities and a shown ability effectively manage deadlines.
- Flexibility to adjust hours as required to effect problem resolution. Overtime may be required during peak periods.
- Experience working on large data frameworks is a plus.
Compensation Pay Disclosure:
Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.
The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya may offer incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
