Certification Analyst – Payment Systems
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is hybrid (3-days) based at our Atlanta, GA office.
Our UL Payment Center of Excellence works with our customers to test, validate/verify, certify, and advise on their functionality and security of their EMV payment products, systems, and ecosystems. To help achieve this, we are looking for a Technical Analyst to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.
We are looking for someone who can help understand and build scalable customer support for our payment services by bringing expertise, testing skills and customer focus. Our ideal candidate is passionate about payments as an industry and its underlying technology and has a record of accomplishments bringing course-changing solutions to cross-functional teams.

- Ensure quality and integrity of customer products, deliverables, input documents and test results.
- Develop, test, and validate customers payment solutions in response to innovation and changes in regulation, processes, and product.
- Identify and advocate for improvements in existing solutions and strategy.
- Drive key performance metrics such as quality, volume mitigation, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with peer experts, product, and operations experts to solve problems at scale.
- Provide technical solutions in response to operational escalations, delivering the highest level of satisfaction.
- Clearly communicate the status of your work to stakeholders internal and external.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Engineering, Economics, or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field, proving your analytical skills and aptitude for technology
- 1-2 years experience in testing protocol-based systems, preferably in payments industry and a desire to build on that.
- In-depth knowledge of EMV, contactless, and mobile payment technologies
- Experience with payment technology certification processes
- You possess good spoken and written English language skills.
- You have an innate sense of responsibility; accuracy and you are attentive to detail.
- You can work independently to a deadline, and you can run your work efficiently.
- You are a good communicator and can convey messages and influence both technical and business audiences.
What you will learn & achieve
- Perform test activities - use and configure UL BTT and ICC TOOL, test samples and templates in the appropriate way, execute tests and analyze test results.
- Analyze and solve problems - analyze findings and validate test results, pinpoint issues, and communicate issues with client's developers and product owners.
- Communicate with clients about their products - clearly report, both verbally as written, observations, verdicts, and next actions.
- Quality and integrity - ensure high quality of client products, deliverables, input documents and test results.
- Innovate - have an open and creative mind, improve internal processes, and be involved in new types of projects. Develop knowledge about the latest released products and be on-top-of-the-market regarding latest initiatives.
- Work on personal development - be active in coaching sessions held by your lead, participate in UL training programs and attend related training sessions to build-up knowledge in transaction technology, maintain knowledge of standards, specifications and rules of the international payment schemes and transit/mobility, including new technologies and innovations.
