Iron Mountain is seeking a highly analytical Technical Accounting Manager to join our Global Controllership team.
In this role, you will be responsible for addressing and driving emerging technical accounting issues, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards, and supporting the company's financial reporting and global audit processes.
You will step into a collaborative dynamic within the Global Controllership division, reporting directly to the Director of the Global M&A and IT Accounting Center of Excellence (CoE), while serving as a vital liaison to regional teams and senior management.
What You’ll DoIn this role, you will:
Technical Accounting & Compliance: Address emerging accounting issues and support the precise application of US GAAP and IFRS regarding business combinations, divestments, asset acquisitions, and impairments.
Financial Reporting & Documentation: Support the quarterly and annual financial statement reporting processes by documenting transaction conclusions in detailed technical memorandums and reviewing footnote disclosures.
Policy Standardization: Maintain symmetry and alignment across all global business units regarding accounting policies, key judgments, assumptions, and procedural protocols.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Regional Controllership, Accounting teams, and finance shared services outsource providers to support global audits and resolve material reporting issues efficiently.
Standards Leadership: Lead the company's strategic adoption and implementation of new accounting standards as they emerge.
The ideal candidate will have:
5-7 years of experience in accounting, with proven financial statement audit and reporting experience at a public accounting firm and/or a large, multi-national public company.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS, extensive audit experience, and a broad understanding of key business functional areas.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant designation.
Advanced Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to apply complex judgments, interpretive thinking, and independent problem-solving to develop innovative solutions.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of frequent, impactful interaction with diverse corporate departments and senior management.
