Primary Purpose:
This position is ideal for a candidate who is hands-on and is looking to work in a fast-paced environment with a company experiencing dynamic growth. The candidate will be involved in managing the design, development and maintenance of technical and complex accounting transactions and financial reporting for the Ahold Delhaize US organization.
Responsible for ongoing monitoring of business activities against defined triggers and compliance requirements. Coordinate directly with financial planning, financial reporting and finance operations to drive continuous improvement for the business. This candidate will have the opportunity for involvement in the impairment process, lease accounting, preparation and review of the Company's internal deliverables, and other reporting needs of the organization. The Senior Analyst IV will be an integral part of the accounting function reporting to the Director of Technical Accounting.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Role interfaces directly with all levels of management including Directors and above.
- Partner with various corporate departments (legal, real estate, tax, FP&A, brands, etc.) to help interpret and apply IFRS accounting guidance.
- Conduct analysis and write position papers documenting interpretation and conclusions of technical accounting research and appropriate application of IFRS accounting guidance for non-routine accounting transactions.
- Develop and execute broad reaching and business-related accounting policies and analytics.
- Drive compliance with accounting and reporting standards (IFRS) for external and internal management reporting under area of responsibility.
- Has extensive functional and project experience, is a recognized expert in a functional area with enough organizational and operational expertise to soundly identify relevant solutions and metrics.
- Manage multiple priorities, maintain organization and meet high performance standards in a highly visible deadline-oriented position and environment.
- Assist in reviewing significant contracts for accounting implications and providing guidance to business partners.
- Prepares/Reviews budgets and forecasts as it relates to real estate related accounts. Perform account analysis and performs trend/flux analysis to identify, research, and explain variances to budget, forecasts, etc. for management.
- Work directly with internal and external partners to assure the auditors receive necessary data, documentation, and explanations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

- Promotes an effective project / functional environment through the effective use of indirect mentoring and coaching skills. Shares learnings and best practices with Analysts responsible for other process areas, and also leverages their learnings and experience.
- Plans and assigns work within the context of a project /function. Leads by example, demonstrating leadership attributes, depth/ breath of knowledge and experience allows for a wide range of project / functional guidance.
- Strong influencing and communication skills are key to build and maintain business relationships with internal and external partners to proactively identify, research and resolve issues.
- Will leverage Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies to work with responsible process area in the development of solutions.

Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting
- 6-8 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Knowledge of Excel
- Ability to research technical accounting issues
- Experience with interpreting new accounting standards
- Oral and/or written communication skills
- Advanced reporting tools
- Presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to make recommendations based on interpretation of quantitative analysis
- Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills - both oral and written
- Ability to multiple tasks and work under strict deadlines. Ability to prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables
Preferred Qualifications:
- IFRS preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma preferred
- CPA preferred
- Public Accounting experience preferred
