What Is MyBambu?

MyBambu is a cutting-edge fintech platform delivering the first all-in-one mobile digital financial solution for underserved, primarily Hispanic communities. Your Opportunity:

This is a full-time, in-person position reporting to the President of Operations. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for driving the technical strategy, and development of MyBambu’s platform. This role will lead a team of engineers in building secure, scalable, and innovative financial solutions. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to engineering teams, ensuring best practices in software development.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance financial systems, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Work closely with Product, Compliance, and DevOps teams to align technology with business goals.
  • Maintain high coding standards, conduct thorough code reviews, and implement automated testing strategies.
  • Ensure all development aligns with security best practices and regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and PSD2.
  • Promote Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines for fast and reliable product releases.
  • Identify and address system performance bottlenecks, optimizing code and infrastructure for efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, fintech trends, and best practices in cloud-native architecture.

Skill and Abilities:

  • Strong expertise in backend development (Node.js, Python, Java, or Go) and frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with RESTful & GraphQL APIs, WebSockets, and event-driven architecture.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop engineering teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, preferred.
  • 7+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership or Tech Lead role, preferably in fintech or neobanking.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of digital payments, banking APIs, blockchain, and fraud prevention technologies.
  • Familiarity with financial compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, KYC, AML, and Open Banking standards.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and logging/monitoring tools (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
