The R&D Tech Lead System Development is responsible for the coordinated development of our automated storage solutions. Within this highly multidisciplinary environment you ensure a coordinated implementation of structural improvements and new features. You take the ownership of the technical concepts on system level, and their successful development across the various domains.

The role involves setting technical direction, driving innovation in areas such as network architecture, protocols, and cybersecurity practices, and ensuring alignment with broader product and business goals. The Team Lead collaborates closely with other R&D teams, product management, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions. Additionally, the role includes mentoring team members, promoting secure development practices, and staying current with emerging technologies and threats to guide long-term strategy and continuous improvement.
You are the R&D referent for the system.
As such, you interact with neighbouring departments and functions. You will ensure clear communication on new developments towards our stakeholders and structurally collect feedback on our system performance.
You take the lead in impactful multidisciplinary developments.
In close collaboration with your fellow tech leads, you ensure timely delivery of new features in accordance with the Product Development Process.
You take ownership of the system performance and lead a series of structured continuous improvement programs prioritizing safety, operational efficiency, reliability and user friendliness. You align with your fellow tech leads to ensure a coordinated execution of improvement initiatives.
You are contributing to the product strategy and leading its execution
You build the R&D roadmap for your product line together with the product manager and fellow tech leads.
You always make sure that stakeholders (product manager, product expert, service expert…) are taken into account and prioritized.
As such you are responsible to give priority to R&D contributors on your projects, but technical decisions remain in the hand of technical experts
You are responsible for the budget and projects timeline
Lead Movu meetings (quality meetings) and cross-functional project team
You are responsible to coordinate redaction of product documentation
QualificationsMaster’s degree in automation, mechatronics, computer engineering, or related fields.
3-5 years of engineering experience in automation or complex systems
Experience in software, machine safety, coding or configuration of systems would be appreciated
You will be collaborating with colleagues with very different background and expertise, so being “curious” about technology is a must
You have a positive attitude and encourage the team to go forward
You like to work in a cross-functional team
You are autonomous and a team player.
English is a must

Skills Required
- Master's degree in automation, mechatronics, computer engineering, or related fields
- 3-5 years of engineering experience in automation or complex systems
- Experience in software, machine safety, coding or configuration of systems
- Fluent English
