About the Role
We're looking for a senior/staff level backend leaning tech lead to own revenue cycle management (RCM) at Marble. We're on an audacious mission to solve the youth mental health crisis, and that will only be possible if we effectively collect payments from insurance payers for the care we're providing. That's a notoriously difficult challenge, and we need someone to lead the charge.
You'll be a technical lead of a team of engineers & operations building the infrastructure, product, and processes that power RCM. You'll own a high-leverage surface area that directly impacts our ability to grow, and help build a world-class engineering culture from the ground up.
What You'll Do
Own and evolve Marble's RCM / billing systems
  • Build and maintain the systems that ensure Marble gets paid. This is a huge surface area that includes things like, payer contract configuration management, insurance collection, automated eligibility checks, workflows to handle newly ineligible insurance, claim submissions, reimbursement flows, and reporting. RCM is a core pillar of our business, and you'll own it end-to-end.

Build core platform infrastructure
  • While RCM will be your primary focus, we're still a small team and you'll be a leader of our general core platform infrastructure. As we move from a single monolith to a more scalable architecture, you'll help lead the design and implementation of our platform foundation - including event-driven systems, internal tooling, data pipelines, and DevX / infra improvements.

Up-level engineering standards and provide mentorship
  • Be a senior voice on the team. Mentor engineers, set the standard for clean, maintainable code and champion best practices. Mentor teammates and help grow a strong, thoughtful engineering culture.

Be a cross-functional partner
  • Collaborate closely with product, operations, and clinical teams to ensure we're working on the problems that truly matter and delivering solutions that really work.

Qualifications
Requirements
  • 6+ years of backend leaning engineering experience
  • Deep expertise in building reliable, scalable systems and dealing with business complexity
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines & IaC tooling (such as Terraform, AWS CDK, etc.)
  • Prior startup experience, or a really strong desire to work at an early stage company
  • NYC based & able to come into our SOHO office 3 days a week

  • Expertise with the Node.js ecosystem

We’re exploring how AI can act as a therapy copilot for students themselves, giving them resources and support between sessions.

Hybrid Workspace

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

We have a hybrid model, with most of the team based out of NYC. We believe an in person presence is crucial to team culture, but also prioritize flexibility. Employees in NYC come into the office ~3 days a week, and we have regular team onsites.
