The Data Architecture Sr Ld Anlyst is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function. Responsible for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.
Responsibilities:
- Provide data controls advice and guidance to the end-to-end data flow, including upstream areas that create and/or consume Authoritative Data Sources to ensure they adopt new policy/standards, data models, and appropriate infrastructure.
- Understands the business/function processes to provide insights into business end-to end data flows and the critical data elements that flow across systems.
- Support Data Stewards to drive end-to-end management and consistent usage to maximize the trustworthiness in data.
- Confer with Data Quality team on options to resolve issues.
- Lead assessment of data requirements, data standards and data process risk, including coordinating with the business in identifying critical data, defining standards and quality expectations, and prioritize remediation of data issues.
- Align key data capabilities including metadata repositories, data dictionaries, data lineage, business process maps, and training materials with the data and system process flows.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, review and recommend and/or processes and technologies improvements that support successful deployment of Data obligations.
- Coordinate and support reviews of issues / challenges / risks by factoring input from partners and diverse points of view.
- Define controls around data entitlements, masking, cross border, completeness
- Interface with Internal Audit and Operations Risk Management to review process and controls
- Escalate potential barriers to timely execution before they impact the delivery, communicate potential risks and plans to
- mitigate issues and concerns.
- Provide status updates on issues, challenges, risks and solutions to the technology data teams in a succinct manner to drive decision-making and actions.
- Monitor metrics and key performance indicators associated with Data Quality and Controls.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating,
- Managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of combined experience in banking and financial services industry, information technology and/or data controls and governance.
- Experience with data management processes and tools and applications, including process mapping and lineage toolsets.
- Strong knowledge of structured/unstructured databases, data modeling, data management, rapid / iterative development methodologies and data governance tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance issues, policies, regulatory requirements, and industry information affecting the business environment.
- Demonstrated relationship management and advisory skills with sponsors, key stakeholders, partners and team members in both Business and Technology forums.
- Excellent presentation skills, business and technical writing, and verbal communication skills to support decision-making and actions
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to recognize and comprehend complex data flow and designs.
- Regularly provided timely action-focused status updates to management and stakeholders
- Self-motivated and able to dynamically determine priorities
- Actively managed various aspects of data initiatives including analysis, planning, execution, and day-to-day production management.

- Bachelor's Degree or Graduate Degree
