About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Polishing Supervisor to lead our dedicated team of polishing specialists in Munich. This pivotal role will oversee all polishing operations for our prestigious watch and jewelry collections, ensuring the highest standards of finish and quality are consistently met. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of luxury polishing techniques, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for precision craftsmanship.
Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, mentor, and train a team of polishing technicians, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Allocate tasks, manage schedules, and monitor performance to ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved.Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Operational Oversight: Oversee the entire polishing process for watch components (cases, bracelets, movements) and jewelry pieces (precious metals, settings).Ensure adherence to established polishing protocols, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and consistency.
Oversee the maintenance of all polishing machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous quality checks on all polished items to ensure they meet the brand's exacting standards for surface finish, texture, and aesthetic appeal.Troubleshoot and resolve any quality issues or defects, implementing corrective actions as needed.Maintain detailed records of production and quality control.
Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on various polishing techniques, materials, and equipment.Stay abreast of industry advancements and new technologies in polishing.Maintain and calibrate polishing machinery and tools, ensuring optimal performance.
Collaboration: Work closely with production managers, quality control, and design teams to ensure seamless workflow and product integrity.Communicate effectively with other departments regarding production status, challenges, and solutions.
Proven experience (minimum 5-7 years) in a supervisory or lead role within a high-end watchmaking or jewelry polishing environment.
In-depth knowledge of various polishing techniques, materials (e.g., gold, platinum, steel, precious stones), and machinery specific to luxury watches and jewelry.
Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetic perfection.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in German and English is highly desirable.
A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in watchmaking, jewelry, or a related precision craft is a significant advantage.
