Key Objectives:
- PUMA’s BI Team is in the process of moving “Puma Data Warehouse” to Azure Cloud, so we are implementing Microsoft’s best practices (Enterprise-Scale for Analytics and AI deployed in “Data Landing Zone).
- This is a hybrid role encompassing circa 75% of technical duties, with around 25% of time meant for team/people management.
- Foreseen size of the team is: this position, plus 4 engineers. Functional management of engineers is to be primarily driven from HQ, similarly as own technical tasks to be assigned by one of HQ Teamheads.
- Close collaboration with the Head of IT BI and other IT BI Teamheads to execute the IT BI strategy, while supporting our fast-evolving company needs.
- Co-driving cross-departments initiatives, like architecture, best practices, knowledge sharing, etc.
- Design and Implementation of Spark Solutions end-to-end, from Data Ingestion, Data Lake Design and ELT Design.
- Building of prototypes for PUMA Solution Architects in technological areas of Apache Spark, Synapse Pipelines, Python.
- Deep understanding of all technical components of Azure Synapse/Spark Landscape.
- Extension of BI tabular cube solutions using star schema data modeling.
YOUR TALENT
Eligibility Criteria and Functional Competencies Required:
- 8-10 years of overall IT experience, including 2-3 year of managerial exposure
- 3 years of experience in Azure environment.
- Ideally accomplished MS courses DP-203, AZ104 and AZ 304
- University degree in Computer Sciences or a similar field of studies
- Strong understanding of the following Azure BI Services: Azure Synapse Analytics (Synapse Pipelines; Apache Spark for Synapse, Synapse Studio)
- 3 years of previous coding in Python; Pyspark; Spark SQL and T SQL
- Good skills in DAX (using DAX Studio, Tabular Editor)
- Prior team/people (not tasks!) management is an additional attribute
- Very high motivation in helping/guiding teammates to succeed in projects
- Fluent in business English
