About Team8

Team8 is a venture firm and company-building group. Our business development (BD) team helps our portfolio companies grow - connecting them with customers, partners, and supporting the firm's relationships with senior executives, and industry leaders.

About the role

This is a temporary, fixed-term position covering a maternity leave. You'll step into an established role at the center of our BD function and keep it running end-to-end while the current lead is away.

The BD Operations Lead makes the BD engine run and drive the team to success: reporting, CRM and data systems, internal tools, executive relationships, and the day-to-day coordination that keeps the team on track - working directly with the Chief Revenue Officer, the BD team, and the firm's partners. The priority is continuity: keeping things running smoothly. You'll get a full handover and written guides for every recurring task before the leave begins.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Reporting & visibility: Own the BD reporting layer end to end, including recurring pipeline and activity reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) for the team, the CRO, and the firm's partners, and use it to surface momentum, gaps, and where the team should focus.
  • Process & standardization: Improve how the BD function runs, standardize workflows and align methods across the sector teams while accounting for each one's differences, so the whole team operates on a consistent, efficient cadence.
  • Key projects and assets: Hold the team's larger initiatives end to end, for examples founder-mentoring enrichment programs, keeping each on track across everyone involved.
  • CRM & systems: Own the CRM- data accuracy, user access, onboarding and manage the team's software tools, usage, and renewals.
  • Tools & automation: Operate and maintain internal, AI-assisted automations that handle routine BD work, and help the team adopt them. (No engineering required, just comfort with technology.)
  • Chief Revenue Officer support: Give the CRO the intelligence they need and prepare them for the week ahead, briefings, meeting summaries, and a clean calendar. Some scheduling may be required.
  • Executive visits & events: Coordinate visits from senior executives and delegations, matching them to the right portfolio companies, preparing materials, and following up, and act as the operational backbone for major BD events such as the annual industry summit.
  • Team & operations: Run the day-to-day layer, shared BD inbox, routing introductions, deadlines, and cross-team coordination.
  • Data & content upkeep: Keep the BD team's shared resources accurate and up to date, data hygiene, portfolio-company descriptions and founder details, and other reference materials.
Requirements

What we're looking for

  • 3–5 years in business/revenue operations, consulting, business analysis, venture capital, or a chief-of-staff–type role - ideally in a startup or other fast-moving environment.
  • Highly organized and dependable, trusted to keep things running with minimal oversight; able to go wide or deep and juggle many moving parts.
  • Analytical and tech-savvy - comfortable with numbers, spreadsheets, budgets, reporting tools, and CRM/data tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Affinity, or similar), with a strong instinct for clean data.
  • Comfortable running AI-assisted workflows and eager to learn new tools.
  • Proven end-to-end execution and a strong cross-team operator - keeps initiatives moving without formal authority.
  • Excellent written communication; comfortable with senior stakeholders and representing the firm externally, with maturity and discretion.
  • Excellent English (spoken and written) is a must.
  • Available for the full fixed-term period, with a short handover overlap at the start.
