OVERVIEW:
Under direction of the Manager, the Team Manager is responsible for leading, guiding, coaching, mentoring and managing a team of business analysts and quality assurance analysts in the delivery and support of high-quality business systems solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Team Leadership and Development
Lead a high-performing team of Business Analysts and Quality Assurance Testers to deliver high-quality business solutions.
Create an engaging and supportive work environment where employees feel equipped and trusted to do their best work.
Train, mentor, and coach team members, building individualized career growth plans that reflect both business needs and personal development goals.
Manage team and individual performance through clear metrics, feedback, and quality assurance reviews.
Encourage and support team wellness and work-life balance.
Strategic Leadership and Operational Excellence
Oversee the daily maintenance, enhancement, and continuous improvement of business policies, processes, procedures, and applications.
Ensure systems development and improvement efforts align closely with business strategy, collaborating with peers and stakeholders.
Prepare plans, estimates, set priorities, and allocate resources to operational work and also assign resources to projects in consultation with management teams.
Ensure the team adheres to business analysis and quality assurance standards, as well as System Development Life Cycle best practices, supporting internal and external audit requirements.
Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in processes, tools, and practices, and lead the team to optimize them for enhanced performance and efficiency.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of business applications, industry standards, and health informatics developments relevant to Alberta Blue Cross®.
Cross-team Collaboration and Communication
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, by understanding their strategies, and managing expectations.
Communicate effectively across all levels within the organization.
Participate in cross-functional initiatives and, when needed, lead working groups or committees to drive outcomes and foster collaboration.
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:
Minimum of five years’ experience in providing leadership to a team of Business Analysts and Quality Assurance Testers.
Completion of a diploma/degree program from a technical institute or university.
Proven management and leadership abilities, including coaching, mentoring, relationship building, performance management, and career development.
Ability to effectively balance day-to-day resource management with strategic leadership responsibilities.
Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
In-depth knowledge and experience with business analysis and quality assurance practices, methods, techniques, and tools.
Demonstrated understanding of the project management life cycle.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong commitment to customer support.
Proficiency with Microsoft products, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
