ABB’s Traction division is a pioneering technology leader that offers innovative and energy efficient traction systems for railway rolling stock, electric buses, mining and off-road utility vehicles. Our state of the art and comprehensive portfolio of traction equipment and high-performance battery energy storage systems help customers all over the world to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions that gives our work a powerful sense of purpose. We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead our global product management team that is accelerating the transformation of the transport sector to a low carbon and sustainable future.

Your role and responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-performing product teams by fostering a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning, while enabling growth through targeted capability-building initiatives.
- Define and manage product requirements, customer value propositions, and lifecycle strategies; create product roadmaps and business plans that align with market needs, technical feasibility, and long-term profitability.
- Conduct market and competitive analysis, monitor product performance using key metrics, identify portfolio gaps, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize product costs, forecast volumes, improve product management processes, manage customer relationships and escalations, and deliver impactful training programs.
Your background & Required skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent area of studies.
- Over 10 years of experience in an industrial environment covering roles in engineering, R&D and product management with a preference for experience in more than one area.
- Expertise in power electronic converters or variable frequency drives with knowledge of the railway sectors being a significant advantage.
- Proven track record in managing products globally specifically in the field of power electronics for mobile applications with a strong focus on energy efficiency
- Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach, strategic mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by influence, adopting a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
- Skilled in managing complex customer relationships and effectively resolving escalations.
- Fluency in English (min C1) is required, German language knowledge is beneficial
