Your role at Dynatrace
As Team Captain, you care for an Engineering Team, its individual team members, and their talents, strengths, and creativity so that they're leveraged to maximum effect. You also have the opportunity to continue growing and developing technically as a front-end engineer being able to contribute to architecture discussions and complex implementations of our chart components. You foster teamwork and cultural attributes, help others drive value creation and product delivery, and support Directors of Software Development (Dev Dir) with formal tasks that concern the Dev Team and the needs of individual team members. You look after raising the quality bar of the team. In a nutshell, you're the leader of the development team.
- Live, support, and develop the Dynatrace values and culture.
- Handle 1:1 sessions with all team members (mentor and help them find the right path to grow in Dynatrace).
- Organize team-building events to increase team bonding.
- Encourages and empowers the team to improve and implement changes to become their best version.
- Ensure knowledge sharing, performance, communication, and motivation within the team.
- Identify and handle issues.
- Conducts interviews and assesses the suitability of candidates.
- Supports initiatives that might improve our organization.
- Ensure the team is organized and structured in alignment with the lab goals and team / individual needs.
- Work closely with the Director regarding team structure (assess readiness and drive the formal promotions process), performance, and the engineering quality bar.
- Work on frontend development, primarily using React. You will be contributing to our data-visualization components, implementing chart logic, and developing chart API endpoints, along with performing all necessary testing
- Great software engineering practices: testing culture, PR reviews, pair programming, SOLID principles...
- Sensibility and appreciation for appealing, performant and responsive visual designs.
- Experience with Component Driven Development.
Team description
The team is at the forefront of frontend technology, working with the latest advancements in React to drive the heart of our platform. It's responsible for developing the chart library that powers our data visualization system, which is a core part of our design system.
The team's mission is to create robust and reusable components that enable other internal teams to build their dashboards and data visualization applications efficiently.
What will help you succeed
- At least 3-5 years experience in Software Engineering in any language (React/Javascript).
- Fantastic leadership skills: from mentoring and guiding other engineers to communication.
- Walk the talk when it is about problem resolution.
- An acute sense of caring for the team drives her to excellence.
- Ideally, you have some experience in mentoring, onboarding, and team leadership.
- Able to distinguish the good, the bad, and the ugly regarding engineering practices and provide feedback.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of software engineers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
