Team Lead - Software Applications

Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Role Definition - Oversees the planning, organization and implementation of software and web applications.
What you will do:• Managing the day-to-day activities of software projects, including overseeing team members responsibilities and schedules.
• Directing and motivating project team.• Evaluating and managing deliverables to ensure that service expectations are achievable, developed, and met.• Monitoring project results for significant deviations. Ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes.
Software Development
  • Experience with Docker
  • Extensive Python experience or OOP languages
  • Meaningful experience with Model View Controller / Model View Template framework
  • Demonstrated experience as a Full Stack Development
  • Experience of software development in a manufacturing environment
  • Top Candidates will also have a high level of Javascript experience

Manufacturing Data and Process Understanding; Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, metal cutting tooling, and assembly processes. Understanding of digital data from these types of processes and how to interpret data from manufacturing processes.
  • General understanding of Machining and CNC processes
  • General understanding of Assembly processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Automation and systems like AGVs and Vision Systems
  • Experience with IoT and Cloud Architecture
  • Industry 4.0 Understanding
  • Top Candidates would also have Industry 4.0 Implementation experience, CNC process experience, and understanding of Logical Technical Architectures / Network Diagrams / Entity Relationship in the Azure Domain
  • Top candidates will also have experience automating processes with PLC, Robot, and AGV

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Technology preferred

Top Candidates will also have:
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Project management skills, team leadership skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles

What you have:
Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
IT Project Control and Reporting: Knowledge of project control and reporting; ability to monitor the vital signs of an IT project while managing its progress and delivery schedule.
IT Project Management: Knowledge of project management; ability to plan, organize, monitor and control IT projects using appropriate technical resources.
IT Standards, Procedures & Policies: Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) standards and policies; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $179,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
