Job Description
Job Purpose:
- Lead & drives functional excellence in engineering solution and provide knowledge base, services, and technical understanding for the “Mining & Cement Industries” applications as per the industry standards and its regulatory requirements.
- Manage all aspect of project life cycle from pre-sale proposal support, Engineering, and site support as per the scope.
- He/ She will be reporting to the Engineering Manager.
- Must be able to work independent and handle technical tasks and activity on HW/SW/HMI as well as any 3rd party interfaces as applicable in the projects.
- This may include travel for short- or long-term work assignments within India or overseas for customer meetings, project training and site support.
- Organizes and schedules job tasks with her/his team.
- Provides leadership to the assigned team & Drive Productivity.
- Manage team in terms of people development and issue resolution.
- Manage Global stakeholder including the regional solution teams or Global Program Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver & execute the assigned projects on time with good quality/cost effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to take on challenging tasks and be a solution provider to internal & external stakeholders & industry team on solutions.
- Keep improving self-engineering capabilities and exchange best practice with other team members to improve team’s capabilities.
- Lead technical implementation in whole life cycle of project delivery.
- Collaborate & work with Technical Lead/SMEs to clarify technical issues and share workloads.
- Ability to present solution to the stakeholders and coordinate development tasks with team members.
- Work with PM for scope management, deliver execution plans & effectively monitor the execution with good quality, cost effectiveness, customer acceptance and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with Global Program Managers and PM for WBS development.
- Develop robust quality process & ensure strict adherence.
- Work closely & guide the proposal team for timely support on estimation and proposal delivery.
- Ensure project implementation follows the procedure of S&S standard.
- Drive project cost reduction through continuous process improvement, by applying and maximizing reusable engineering standards in project delivery.
- Drive business growth & strengthen footprint of GEBS as technology CoE.
- Work for the optimization of procurement processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Support in AOP planning.
- Ensure that all audits (internal/external) are adequately documented, and significant risk are dealt in a timely manner.
- Engage with various stakeholders to identify opportunities for increased engagement, seek feedback on deliverables and to improve overall engagement.
- Ensures deliverables provided by the GEBS are delivered within exceptional good quality on time and on budget with high levels of Internal Customer Satisfaction.
- Manage utilization of all resources and ensure accurate capacity planning.
- Responsible to manage resources appropriately and to assign right skills to the work.
Job Related Competencies:
- Should have exposure on applications in Power & Control / Process Applications.
- High level of expertise in RA products such as Control Logix, Drives, FTView SE/ME.
- Good understanding of advanced solutions like RAMS Libraries/ACM/PlantPAx etc.
- Good experience on safety systems and functionalities.
- Experience with at least one third party PLC, HMI, SCADA systems each.
- Excellent customer focus.
- Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required.
- Proven record of successfully managing multiple & complex customer projects and a good understanding about Project Management.
- Major Commissioning Know-How experience and troubleshooting methods.
- Has very good interpersonal & networking skills.
- Is flexible/responsive to manage global needs & expectations about GEBS engineering deliveries.
- Has effective Communication skills.
- Recognized as a subject matter expert in Mining & Cement Industries Applications and lead the development of process improvements.
- Manages team performance to develop team capability and motivate the team. Create developmental plans for any identified gaps.
- Supports best practice sharing and knowledge transfer among teams to improve competency of whole team.
- Assesses and develops competency and capabilities among the team. Encourages multi-skilling within the team to ensure better utilization.
Rockwell Automation’s hybrid policy aligns that employees are expected to work at a Rockwell location at least Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays unless they have a business obligation out of the office.
