Team Lead - Hosting Operations (24/7) at Alfa
Alfa has a number of opportunities in smart, diverse and growing teams working in a product-led software delivery company. We currently have a unique opportunity to join Alfa as one of the founding members of our newly formed Tricity Hub in Poland as a Team Lead - Hosting Operations.
Join Alfa, a leading provider of software solutions for the asset finance industry, as we continue to expand our cloud operations. We're looking for a Team Lead – Hosting Operations (24/7) to lead a growing team of junior and mid-level Hosting Operations professionals in the EMEA region.
This is a pivotal role, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring smooth, reliable support for our clients—24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Lead and mentor a 24/7 Hosting Operations team based in the EMEA region, providing support and development to junior and mid-level staff. Responsible for maintaining the 24/7 work rota.
Oversee and allocate the team’s workload, balancing client priorities, team availability, and operational goals.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality Hosting Operations tasks including releases, maintenance, and client requests.
Maintain high standards of task administration, ensuring all changes are logged, up to date, and transparent.
Meet regularly with project stakeholders and customers to align on best practices and progress.
Own and improve operational processes, adhering to Alfa’s audit requirements, whilst making it easier for teams to request and execute.
Collaborate with the global Alfa Cloud team to enhance processes, tooling, and service delivery.
Take ownership of team leadership activities such as mentoring, performance reviews, and shift coordination.
Proven experience leading a technical operations or support team, ideally in a 24/7 environment.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize team tasks effectively.
A proactive and supportive leader with a coaching mindset.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
Fluent English (spoken and written) – a must for working with international teams and clients.
Hands-on experience with:
Managing production infrastructure across test and live environments.
Using issue/ticket management systems, ideally Jira.
Core AWS services (e.g. EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation).
Technical knowledge in any of the following is a plus: web applications, DevOps, cloud operations, PostgreSQL, Docker, Linux, cybersecurity.
Where you’ll work;
Alfa operates a smart working model encompassing 2-3 days a week working from home and other days from our co-working space based in the Olivia Centre, Gdansk.
Although you will be joining a new team at our Tricity Hub, you will work very closely and as an integral part of our wider team at Alfa. You will receive guidance, training and support from other Cloud Operations, Solution Architecture and Delivery teams globally, to enable your successful onboarding and ongoing career with us.
Culture is the beating heart of Alfa and we find nothing is better for culture than engaging company conferences and meetings. As such you will be required to join the wider Alfa EMEA team 4 times a year for exciting company events. Our conference locations vary across the UK and Europe each year.
