Team Lead, Fullstack Engineer

ProfitSolv is a SaaS business services provider for the legal and accounting industry. We are looking for an Team Lead, Fullstack Engineer to join our growing team!  

The primary purpose of the Team Lead, Full Stack Engineering is to own payments and billing within the Embedded Finance pod. This team owns money movement across the product suite, Stripe Connect integrations, hosted payment pages, ACH and eCheck, recurring billing, payouts, and reconciliation, among others. It’s also consolidating multiple legacy processors onto one unified payments gateway and rolling it out brand by brand across the portfolio. This is a player-coach role. The Team Lead sets the technical direction, owns delivery, and grows the engineers while staying hands-on in React and C# / .NET microservices.

As a Team Lead, Fullstack Engineer, you will: 

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack engineers and QA automation testers. Set the bar for code quality, architecture, and engineering culture. 
• Own the team’s technical roadmap — define how the payments platform evolves, what gets refactored, and what gets built from scratch. 
• Conduct code reviews that teach, not just gatekeep, and raise the skill level of the whole team over time. 
• Run one-on-ones, participate in hiring, and help engineers grow in their careers. 
• Drive AI adoption on the team. Train engineers on AI coding assistants, establish best practices for prompt-driven development, and make sure everyone uses the tools ProfitSolv provides (Claude Code and others). Treat AI fluency as a measurable part of team performance. 
• Design and engineer full-stack payment features end-to-end — UI in React, services in .NET, data in SQL. This is a hands-on role, not just a leadership title. 
• Own the hardest problems in the domain yourself: idempotency models, webhook reliability, ledger correctness, gross settlement and trust vs operating fund routing, reconciliation, and PCI-aware design. 
• Drive the modernization of legacy code on both stacks — component-based React on the front, well-bounded microservices on the back. 
• Set the standard for API contract design between front-end and back-end: versioned, RESTful, idempotent, with consistent error semantics. 
• Be accountable for the correctness and reliability of money movement across the product suite — payments, billing, payouts, and reconciliation. 
• Partner with the Pod’s Product Manager on roadmap, dependencies, and shared services. 
• Own launch readiness for payment releases: regression, E2E, and UAT cycles as hard gates, with rollout and rollback plans for every release. 
• Lead processor migrations and multi-brand rollouts. Sequence cutovers behind feature flags, coordinate with payment partner teams, and protect firms from disruption mid-migration. 
• Run point on operational readiness: observability, alerting, deployment runbooks, and incident response for payment-critical paths. 
• Keep compliance in view from day one — PCI scope, KYC and merchant onboarding, SOC 2 practices, and trust accounting constraints (gross settlement, refund and chargeback routing). 
• Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, back-end engineers, and QA to ship features end-to-end. 
• Translate business requirements into technical plans with clear scope, milestones, and trade-offs. 
• Be the connective tissue between your team and the rest of engineering — keep stakeholders informed, unblock your people, and advocate for quality. 
• Other duties as assigned.

A great fit for this position has: 

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant full-stack depth across React and .NET / C#.
• 2+ years leading engineers — formally as a team lead or manager, or informally as the clear technical leader of a team — with a track record of growing people. 
• You’ve owned delivery for a team — sprint commitments, quality outcomes, and stakeholder communication. 
• Advanced TypeScript and modern React (hooks, components), in enterprise-level software. 
• Strong experience in .NET / C# (.NET 8 or later), RESTful APIs, microservices, and SQL Server (T-SQL, Entity Framework). 
• Cloud experience — AWS preferred (Lambda, ECS, RDS, SQS, S3, CloudWatch); Azure equivalents are sufficient. 
• Architectural judgment on service boundaries, async messaging, caching, consistency trade-offs, state management, and API design. 
• Production payment systems experience — Stripe Connect or comparable platform integrations — including PCI-aware patterns, tokenization, and the operational side of payments: refunds, disputes, ACH and eCheck, PAD, surcharging, payouts. 
• Exposure to ledgering, trust accounting, merchant onboarding and KYC flows, or processor migrations is a strong plus. 
• You actively use Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, or similar AI coding assistants daily, and can show measurable gains in your own work. 
• You’ve helped other engineers adopt AI tools and can speak to what worked, what didn’t, and how you measured it. 
• You see AI fluency as a core engineering skill to be coached and evaluated, not an optional extra. 

Additional Desirable Qualifications   

• Docker, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), and observability tooling. 
• Experience running modernization or re-platforming programs while shipping features in parallel. 
• Mandatory tooling. Daily, proficient use of Claude Code and approved AI tools for development, refactoring, testing, and code review — and you hold the team to the same standard. 
• Defined SDLC. Ticket-driven tasks, acceptance-criteria-based delivery, and PR reviews with automated testing in every workflow. 
• Performance metrics. Sprint commitments met consistently, predictable velocity, and a non-negotiable quality bar — especially for money movement. 
• Architecture standards. Code is production-ready on both stacks and aligned with our architecture, security, and performance standards 
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.  
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
