About you and this role

The Tax Specialist will be part of the APAC Tax Team with primary responsibility for Philippines tax matters, while also providing broader APAC tax support across tax compliance, tax operations, tax accounting, tax audits and tax advisory. ​The position offers exposure to a broad range of direct and indirect tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.

This role requires tax technical expertise to analyze and interpret local tax legislation and provide practical business-focused advice. The position will work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, business, legal, HR, external advisors, and tax authorities to ensure compliance with local tax regulations, manage tax risks, drive process improvements and support business growth across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance, Advisory and Operations

  • Manage corporate income tax, withholding tax, VAT, stamp duty, and other tax compliance obligations
  • Provide tax analysis and practical advice to the business
  • Research and interpret tax legislation, regulations, administrative guidance, and tax authority positions
  • Monitor legislative and tax policy developments, assess business impacts, and communicate key developments to stakeholders
  • Analyze tax implications of commercial transactions, supply chain changes, restructurings, legal entity rationalizations, and business initiatives
  • Prepare tax position papers, management presentations, and supporting documentation

Tax Accounting and Reporting

  • Support quarterly and annual tax provision processes under US GAAP
  • Prepare and review current and deferred tax calculations, tax account reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with tax reporting, disclosures, uncertain tax position assessments, and tax risk evaluations
  • Develop and maintain tax procedures, documentation, and internal control frameworks

Tax Audit Management

  • Manage tax authority audits, reviews and investigations
  • Prepare and submit responses to tax authority enquiries and information requests
  • Respond to tax notices and assessments and file appeals where appropriate

Pillar Two and Transfer Pricing

  • Support Pillar Two compliance, reporting, data gathering, calculations, and implementation activities
  • Assist with transfer pricing monitoring, documentation and compliance

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve tax processes, controls, and governance
  • Support automation initiatives and implementation of tax technology solutions

Qualifications

  • Prefer 5–8 years of relevant tax experience in a multinational corporation, accounting firm, or equivalent environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of corporate income tax, indirect taxes (VAT/GST), withholding taxes, and international tax concepts
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing tax issues, interpreting legislation, and providing practical tax advice to business stakeholders
  • Experience supporting tax audits, appeals, tax authority enquiries, and controversy management

Your skills

  • Stakeholder Management & cross-functional collaboration: Work seamlessly with different functions and stakeholders with the ability to communicate technical tax issues in clear business language. Ability to lead responses to tax authorities and manage external advisors.
  • Operational Excellence & Attention to Detail: Ability to manage high-volume tax filings, ensure accuracy of tax reporting, meet deadlines, and maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Identify and resolve issues before submission.
  • Systems & Data Management: Experience working with SAP, tax portals, large datasets, Microsoft Excel and any other tools to support tax compliance, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Demonstrated ability to streamline processes, improve controls, leverage automation, and enhance the efficiency and quality of tax operations.

  • This role is based in Philippines, no relocation support will be provided.
