As a U.S. Tax Reviewer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of federal and state income tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, estates, and exempt organizations. This position requires a strong understanding of U.S. tax laws, attention to detail, and the ability to manage and mentor a team of tax preparers. You will be responsible for upholding client-specific requirements, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the tax review process.

About the Role:For 1040 Returns
  • Tax Review & Compliance

    • Review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, estates, and exempt organizations.

    • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.

  • Team Guidance & Support

    • Provide technical guidance and support to tax preparers, especially on complex or challenging issues.

    • Conduct induction and ongoing training sessions, including updates on tax laws and software changes.

  • Work Allocation & Monitoring

    • Assign daily tasks to preparers and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.

    • Follow up on pending work and assist in resolving bottlenecks.

  • Client Deliverables

    • Submit completed tax returns and related documentation within scheduled timelines.

    • Review and incorporate client feedback, make necessary modifications, and re-submit promptly.

  • Project Execution

    • Contribute to various organizational projects as per business requirements.

    • Adapt quickly to changes in client policies, procedures, and software updates, and communicate these effectively to the team.

  • Quality & Compliance

    • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.

    • Ensure strict compliance with information security protocols and data protection guidelines.

  • Staff Development

    • Mentor and train team members to enhance their technical and professional capabilities.

    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

About You:For 1040 Returns
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or a related field, with 4 to 6 years of experience in U.S. taxation or a relevant domain.

  • Familiarity with SPBinder is an added advantage.

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. tax forms, including 1040 (individual), 1041 (estate/trust), and 990 (exempt organizations).

  • Strong understanding of tax concepts, industry practices, and procedures.

  • Proven ability to plan and accomplish goals using sound judgment and prior experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership in directing and supporting the work of others.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in tax software such as GoSystem, CCH Axcess, UltraTax, and Lacerte.

  • Solid accounting and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.

  • B.Com / M.Com / CA / CPA / EA
