Role overview

As our Tax Manager, you will be taking ownership and accountability for various key tax activities, including accurate and timely tax compliance. You will also support the Head of Tax to provide commercial and value add tax advice in a fast-moving tax environment. This position sits within a small, close knit tax team in the Finance department, and also offers the opportunity to work with various teams across the business and external stakeholders.



Job details – you’ll need to have demonstrable experience in: 


  • Work with the Head of Tax, different teams across the business, and external advisors on various tax advisory projects including transfer pricing, permanent establishment, controlled foreign companies, financing, and restructurings
  • Work with the Head of Tax, different teams across the business, and external advisors on tax authority enquiries and mitigating tax risks
  • Continuously improve and/or automate existing tax processes so can increase time and focus on value-add work, including leveraging Workday Financials and Copilot to do so
  • Own the completion of UK corporate tax returns and payments, Pillar II calculations, R&D tax credits, corporate interest restriction calculations, SAO certification, and other direct tax compliance obligations for the group companies
  • Own preparation of the tax numbers and disclosures for inclusion in quarterly group reporting and annual statutory accounts, and dealing with auditors in respect of queries
  • Manage the tax graduate, including delegating, reviewing, coaching, and supporting their development.

  

  

Essential skills/experience:  

  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to explain complex tax issues and processes to non-tax professionals
  • Curious and commercial, including ability to analyse and understand data
  • Continuous improvement and learning mindset, with a proactive approach to work
  • Results driven and able to work to tight deadlines, with ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, but can also work independently
  • Good knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
