YOUR ROLE AS A MANAGER, TAX

To oversee group-wide direct and indirect tax compliance, audits, and BEPS Pillar 2 initiatives across AirAsia Aviation Group (Malaysia, Thailand, and overseas). Manages transfer pricing, strategic tax planning, and tax authority relations.

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:

• Oversee and ensure compliance for both direct and indirect tax matters across the AirAsia (Aviation Group of Companies), including evaluating and enhancing existing compliance procedures.

• Supervise the preparation and review of tax computations, returns, and estimations to secure timely filings with the tax authorities.

• Manage and facilitate all tax audit activities.

• Formulate and review transfer pricing documentation, and support operating units in executing transfer pricing requirements for related-company transactions.

• Support the team with strategic tax planning and the handling of ad hoc advisory projects for the department.

• Coordinate group-wide implementation of initiatives relating to BEPS Pillar 2 actions, such as country-by-country reporting and earnings stripping rules.

• Serve as the primary liaison for internal operating units, tax authorities, tax consultants, and external stakeholders regarding tax matters for Thailand, Malaysia, and overseas entities.

• Stay informed of the latest tax developments and proactively communicate relevant updates to the business streams.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in corporate compliance and advisory in both direct and indirect taxes.  

• Experience in regional tax (ASEAN) is an added advantage. 

• Good command of English, both written and verbal.

• Strong computer literacy, such as MS Office, G-Suite, and Oracle.

• Holding a license of ACCA / CIMA / CPA would be an advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a proactive approach to team management and multitasking.
