Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve federal and multi-state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, and trusts
- Prepare and review tax projections and estimated payments
- Communicate with state and federal agencies regarding client notices and compliance issues
- Serve as a technical resource for team members, addressing tax questions and software issues
- Assist with compiling documentation for state and federal tax audits
- Monitor deadlines to ensure timely filing of all tax returns, extensions, and other compliance-related items
- Conduct tax research to support client transactions and planning strategies
- Mentor and develop staff, providing feedback and promoting professional growth
- Attend client meetings alongside firm leadership to support relationship management
- Participate in tax planning discussions and identify opportunities for clients
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment and assist with projects as needed
- Work extended hours during peak deadlines as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations for individuals, corporations (C and S), partnerships, trusts, and estates
- Familiarity with tax workflows and ability to adapt to evolving processes
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret new tax legislation
- Proficiency in CCH Axcess/ProSystem and a solid grasp of GAAP
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily tasks and analysis
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, professional demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field (minimum GPA 3.0)
- CPA designation preferred
- Minimum 7 years of tax experience in public accounting or a family office environment
- At least 5 years of experience managing or supervising a team
- Strong background in real estate and partnership tax compliance and consulting is preferred
