Why is this role important to Field Nation?
This position will be responsible for US and international tax compliance, including sales and use by leveraging Netsuite/Avalara along with payroll and state/federal tax. With a strong focus on customer service and an approachable attitude, this position will enable our internal teams to move quicker, better serve our clients, and enable overall growth for Field Nation. We are looking for a strong tax accountant that has led a small team and has the ability to grow with Field Nation.
What you'll get to do:
- Tax Compliance & Filing: Manage tax partners to ensure accurate and timely federal and state tax filings, oversee 1099 reporting, and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Risk Management & Strategy: Assess international tax risks, provide mitigation strategies, and stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Operational Oversight: Supervise the Bangladesh team for tax-related requests, maintain tax policies, and oversee registrations and compliance with jurisdictions.
- Systems & Process Management: Utilize Avalara and NetSuite for tax configurations, ensure proper sales and use tax filings, and manage state-registered agents.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support audits, respond to tax notices, collaborate with internal teams, and drive strategic tax-related projects.
You might be a good fit if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; 10+ years of tax experience preferred.
- Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian tax regulations, including payroll, income, sales & use, GST, and provincial taxes.
- Understanding of accounting principles, technical accounting skills, and internal tax processes.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a key member of the compliance team.
- Experience in a fast-growing technology company is a plus.
