The Role 

The Tax Intern will support the Tax Department in ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax laws and regulations. The role provides hands-on experience in tax preparation, filing, documentation, and advisory services, while building practical knowledge of the Nigerian tax system and interactions with the Nigerian Revenue Service (NRS) and State tax authorities. 

This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to build expertise in taxation, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting within a dynamic professional environment. 


Requirements

What You Will Do 

• Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE, and other statutory obligations. 
• Support tax computations and reconciliation of tax accounts. 
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of tax records and correspondence. 
• Assist in responding to tax queries and requests from regulatory authorities such as the NRS and State tax agencies. 
• Participate in tax audits and investigations under the guidance of senior team members. 
• Monitor tax deadlines and support timely compliance with statutory requirements. 
• Assist in preparing tax schedules, reports, and supporting documentation. 
• Conduct research on Nigerian tax laws, regulations, and emerging developments. 
• Provide administrative and operational support to the tax team as required. 
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and confidentiality in handling tax-related information. 

What You Bring 

Educational Qualification 

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. 

• Must have successfully completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme. 

• Strong academic record. 

Experience 

• Previous internship experience or coursework in taxation, accounting, finance, or related areas is an added advantage. 
• Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and regulations is beneficial.

• Tax computation and reconciliation.
