Job Description:
You are a Tax Data Transformation Expert in the Compliance & Reporting ("C&R") function within the Global Tax Organization supporting all business segments of Mars Incorporated. As a Tax Data Transformation Expert, you will play a critical role in helping the organization leverage data to optimize tax strategies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve tax workflows, implement automation solutions, and drive process improvements through digital technologies. You will utilize your deep understanding of tax processes and strong background in digital transformation to drive value for the Global Tax Organization.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, accounting, or finance from an accredited university required
Minimum of 5 + years of experience in tax, finance, or technology, with a focus on process automation and digital transformation.
Deep understanding of tax processes and a strong background in digital transformation, process automation, and system implementation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex issues and develop effective solutions.
Desire to leverage AI to optimize tax processes.
Experience in data analytics systems (Alteryx, Power Query, Power BI) with implementation experience preferred
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R, with experience in data manipulation and analysis, preferred but not required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
What will your key responsibilities be?
Data Management & Analytics:
Use advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to assess tax data, create dashboards, and produce reports for decision-making.
Analyze tax data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
Develop predictive models to forecast tax liabilities and identify potential tax savings opportunities.
Ensure data integrity and consistency across various tax systems and reports, collaborating with data governance teams to resolve issues.
Technology Implementation & Support:
Complete the implementation of tax technology platforms and ensure seamless integration with existing financial systems.
Serve as the subject matter expert on tax-related digital tools and software, providing ongoing support to tax teams and key stakeholders.
Work closely with IT and external vendors to ensure system upgrades and changes align with business needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work cross-functionally with IT, and other departments to ensure smooth execution of process improvements and digital projects.
Lead change management efforts within the tax department, driving adoption of new technologies and processes.
Optimization & Automation:
Complete initiatives to streamline and automate tax processes, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and enhance data accuracy.
Collaborate with internal teams to design, implement, and optimize digital solutions for tax compliance and reporting.
Conduct thorough analysis of current tax processes, identify inefficiencies, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Monitor and track tax-related compliance and performance metrics, identifying and addressing potential risks.
Help lead completion of compliance and reporting deliverables utilizing technology tools
Mentorship:
Provide guidance and mentorship to analysts, helping them develop both technology and tax expertise.
Stay updated with emerging digital trends in the tax space and bring new ideas for continuous improvement.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
