Job Summary
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement indirect tax planning strategies.
- Ensure compliance with indirect tax regulations (e.g., VAT, gross sales tax) through the review of monthly and annual tax returns.
- Guarantee adherence to municipal, state, local, and federal tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee the reconciliation of tax accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Design and implement process improvements for enhanced tax efficiency.
- Lead projects aimed at optimizing indirect tax balance positions.
- Analyze tax strategies, assess risks, and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Provide indirect tax advisory services for new business opportunities, market strategies, and special projects.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues related to tax planning, compliance, and reporting.
- Support ruling requests, refund claims, objections, protests, and administrative appeals for Brazilian companies undergoing tax audits, investigations, or litigation.
- Ensure compliance with audits conducted by tax authorities.
- Advise senior management on the impact of new laws, court decisions, regulations, rulings, and proposed tax legislation.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Strong expertise in indirect taxes and tax compliance. (4 to 5 years)
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of national tax legislation, tax calculations, and compliance requirements.
- Tools: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Tax One, MasterSaf, PWSATI) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Languages: Fluent in English.
