GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Tax Associate is responsible assisting the Tax Department with its reporting obligations. The role ensuring compliance and that all filings and payments are made on time. In addition, this role assists the Tax Department with any other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Completes daily tasks associated with withholding tax deposits.
- Maintains recap of withholding payments made.
- Prepares and book journal entries.
- Files state withholding returns: semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, annually
- Assists in preparing, filing and paying premium, excise and withholding taxes.
- Participates in the preparation of monthly accruals and reconciliations.
- Communicates effectively with team regarding project status.
Assists with other duties and special projects, as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or one to three years of related experience and/or training.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with team members
- Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Travel is not required in this position.
