We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Analyst to support direct and indirect state tax compliance and reporting activities. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate tax filings, supporting audits, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance tax-related insights.
This position reflects the evolution of tax work from manual processing to a more systems-driven, analytical function, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday–Thursday, with the fourth day determined by business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and support state and local tax filings for designated business units, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements
- Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations to support tax reporting and compliance activities
- Conduct tax research and summarize findings for team members and leadership
- Contribute to process improvements and system optimization efforts within the tax function
- Support tax audits and inquiries, including gathering documentation and coordinating responses
- Analyze financial data to identify tax efficiencies and planning opportunities
- Assist with tax forecasting activities
- Maintain organized and accurate tax records, filings, and supporting documentation
- Leverage tax systems and ERP tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Partner with internal teams (Accounting, Finance, etc.) to ensure accurate reporting and alignment
- Generate routine and ad hoc tax reports and analyses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required
- Generally, 1-3 years of relevant tax, accounting, or finance experience
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations with experience leveraging tax software, financial systems, and ERP platforms is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends/issues, and adapt to changing processes and priorities
- High attention to detail with strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, including ability to simplify complex tax concepts and handle confidential information
