Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced corporate tax accountant to oversee the preparation of tax documents, reports and schedules and workpaper documentation. In addition, this position will be exposed to treasury and general accounting functions for support. This person will report directly to the Controller.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Preparation of recurring compliance and provision work, book/tax differences, account reconciliations, etc.
- Prepare as required state tax schedules
- Assist with audits and respond to notices and inquiries as needed
- Assist with federal, state and local provision calculations and special projects
- Coordinate with outside stakeholders, as needed
- Assist in identifying and developing tax processes, drafting policies and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures
- Responsible for complying with applicable laws, regulations and company policies
- Compliance work including but not limited to federal, state and local taxes, quarterly estimated taxes, property taxes, sales and use taxes, business licenses, gross receipts tax and information returns
- Support accounting department as needed both on ad hoc projects and day-to-day activities in the financial cycle
Skills and Competencies:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in multistate taxation in a corporate setting
- Proficient in corporate and multistate taxation
- CPA Preferred
- Experience with tax laws, tax forms and processing, accounting principles, accounting software and GAAP
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Utica, NY
Salary: $70,000-90,000/yr
