Job Summary
Perform corporate tax compliance and accounting functions to assure the Company meets all federal, state and local taxing regulatory requirements. Prepare accounting and financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles in compliance with department policies, processes, controls and documentation.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare income, premium, sales and use and property tax returns based on general instructions, related state regulations and prior year workpapers. Assist in meeting Company’s life/non-life consolidated income tax compliance requirements by preparing small C corporation and partnership returns based on general instructions and prior year workpapers. Preparation includes detailed analysis of the results of operations of the entity and detailed support documentation/schedules which support related tax position if necessary. Prepare analysis of state apportionment factors as necessary. (50%)

Prepare premium, sales and use and property tax accruals based on general instructions and prior accrual workpapers. Assist in accounting for guarantee assessment for various taxing authorities. (30%)

Conduct research on promulgated tax issues which can be resolved by accessing related laws and regulations. Prepare analysis and related formal memorandum supporting the results of the research for files and department manager. (10%)

Support federal state and regulatory audits by responding to requests from examiners. (10%)
Skills and Background You’ll Need

Experience: 0 to 2 years experience in accounting and tax, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

CPA (preferred)

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field - REQUIRED

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.

Salary Range:
24.28 - 35.70
