Role and Responsibilities
Your role
Our Tax Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance and planning for Samsung Benelux. This includes preparing and filing tax returns, analyzing financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities, and staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations. Additionally, the Tax Accountant will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide tax advice and support various business initiatives.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure a timely, complete and well-documented tax position for internal and external reporting of Samsung Electronics Benelux BV
- Execute tax filings correctly and in a timely manner, following up on settlements and other payments with tax authorities.
- Support the business in evaluating corporate tax, withholding tax, and various other tax implications.
- Keep updated on new European tax rules and requirements, as well as evolving best practices in compliance control, and ensure implementation in finance and business processes.
- Analyze administrative systems supporting tax return preparation and propose improvements.
- Collaborate with the IT team to prepare systems and procedures to ensure compliance with changes in relevant EU tax matters.
- Support the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation for European entities.
- Follow up on the preparation of due declarations and provide support on tax audits.
- Maintain contacts and conduct consultations with tax advisers and tax authorities.
- Assess the business's future ventures to identify possible compliance risks.
Skills and Qualifications
Your skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 1-4 years of experience in tax accounting or a similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations in Benelux countries, with knowledge of international tax principles.
- Experience in financial accounting, month end and year end closing (statutory accounting)
- Experience in communications with tax authorities, auditors and tax consultants is a pre
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP would be an advantage
- Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
- Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in improving and registering of tax processes is a pre
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Professional certification such as CPA or equivalent is a plus.
