The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for effectively sourcing and recruiting for open positions by interacting with applicants, conducting pre-interviews and screening, coordinating appropriate advertising and outreach, and working closely with hiring managers and supervisors to understand the operations of the department to ensure staffing needs are met with top qualified candidates.Job Description
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with hiring managers and department heads, and team members to create solid and trusted partnerships. • Communicates with job applicants by phone/e-mail regarding job opportunities, the status of job openings, the applicant’s consideration for employment, Viejas benefits, and job offers. • Uses various resources and technologies to source and recruit candidates with diverse range of skills that match the department’s needs for support and professional positions. • Reviews completed applications and evaluate thoroughly for appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to the position requirement. • Determines applicant qualifications by prescreening and interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, verifying references, and comparing qualifications to job requirements. • Manages the scheduling and logistics of interviews between candidates and hiring managers/supervisors. • Coordinates the new hire onboarding process with the Talent Acquisition Administrator. • Refers selected applicants to interview with hiring managers. • Tracks resumes and maintains ongoing relationship with potential applicants. • Plans, organizes, and coordinates recruitment activities with hiring managers/supervisors regarding staffing needs and job duties. • Continually updates knowledge of existing federal, state, and local laws and ordinances governing employment. • Acts with discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive situations. • Performs various Human Resources projects, and all other duties as assigned. • Does not provide supervision to others. • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. • 2 or more years of high-volume recruiting, or related experience. Hotel or Resort experience preferred. • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred. • Intermediate experience working with computer systems, including Human Capital Management, (HCM) platforms, Applicant Tracking Systems, (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite. • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of team members and candidates. • Ability to multi-task and prioritize. • Ability to proactively research new talent acquisition resources and pipelines. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines. • Ability to adhere to policies and procedures. • Ability to research and resolve issues. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Ability to be flexible and adapt well to change. • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in difficult situations. • Ability to use sound judgment in difficult or sensitive situations. • Ability to accept constructive criticism. • Ability to stay current on all applicable legal requirements with regards to candidate selection, interviewing practices and employment. • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and as a team.Hiring Preference
