POSITION SUMMARY

The Talent Acquisition & People Experience Specialist  is responsible for managing full-cycle recruitment for all positions across the organization, with particular emphasis on property management, maintenance, and leasing roles. This includes partnering with hiring managers to define staffing needs, sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating interviews, negotiating and extending offers, and ensuring a smooth transition into onboarding. This role focuses on the recruiting lifecycle and is not responsible for broader HR functions such as employee relations, benefits administration, or compliance training.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with hiring managers and regional leadership to identify staffing needs, define role requirements, and build effective   sourcing strategies.
  • Prepare and post job requisitions in the applicant tracking system and external job boards.
  • Source, screen, and assess candidates for open positions, including corporate, property management, and maintenance roles, referring qualified applicants to hiring managers.
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and regional leadership.
  • Track candidate progress through screening, interviews, and offer stages in Paylocity and related tracking tools.
  • Extend, negotiate, and finalize offer letters, and coordinate candidate communications throughout the hiring process.
  • Hand off new hire information to the HR onboarding team and coordinate timing of start dates with hiring managers.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and ensure recruiting activity complies with internal processes and applicable employment laws.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for hard-to-fill and recurring roles, including maintenance technicians, property managers, assistant managers, and leasing agents.
  • Maintain relationships with existing external recruiting partners, including staffing/temp agencies and community-based organizations, to support candidate sourcing.
  • Represent Prospera professionally at job fairs, community events, and other recruiting outreach as needed.
  • Participate in all recruiting functions, including but not limited to hiring events, job fairs, and other recruitment initiatives. 
  • Perform additional recruiting-related projects as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES – GENERAL PERFORMANCE

  • Strong full-cycle recruiting, interviewing, and candidate assessment skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present and negotiate offers effectively.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with hiring managers and candidates alike.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple open requisitions at once.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Proficiency with ATS/HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and recruiting compliance (e.g., EEO, ADA, FCRA as applied to background checks).
  • Experience sourcing for high-volume or hard-to-fill roles.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting for maintenance, property management, assistant manager, and/or leasing agent roles is a plus.
  • Nonprofit recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, or AIRS/PHR-recruiting credential) is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% within Prospera's service area.
  • Valid Class “C” Texas Driver's License required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
  • The mental work demands regular attendance, working well with others, verbal contact with others, noise, and occasional travel by conventional means including motor vehicle within Prospera's region and other locations as required.
