TACOM (WVA): Industrial Engineer (Contingency)

Program Summary
The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army’s mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations.
Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.

Job Summary
The Industrial Engineer analyzes, designs, and improves processes and systems to enhance efficiency, productivity, and performance across TACOM operations. This role focuses on optimizing workflows, reducing waste, improving cycle times, and supporting data driven decision making. The capable individual will evaluate resource utilization, labor distribution, and production schedules to monitor program activity and recommend improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities 
•    Analyze current processes, workflows, and operations to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
•    Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
•    Conduct time studies, process mapping, and workflow analysis
•    Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance and logistics activities using data analytics and performance metrics
•    Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or process optimization efforts
•    Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and operations personnel to implement solutions
•    Assist with facility layout, workflow design, and space utilization planning
•    Ensure compliance with Army Technical Manuals (TMs), safety standards, and contractual requirements
•    Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis for program leadership
•    Support audits, inspections, and government reviews

Basic Qualifications 
•    Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, engineering, or a related technical field
•    Typically 2-5 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or operations analysis
•    Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies and tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
•    Experience conducting data analysis, time studies, and workflow assessments
•    Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
•    Proficiency in standard data analysis tools (e.g., Excel or similar applications)
•    Ability to work in a structured, compliance driven environment
•    Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required)
•    U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
•    Previous experience supporting DoD, Army, or TACOM programs
•    Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
•    Experience with maintenance, warehouse, or logistics operations in industrial environments
•    Familiarity with Army processes, Technical Manuals (TMs), and readiness reporting
•    Experience with process modeling or simulation tools
•    Prior government contracting experience

Additional Information
This position will be a part of a work environment that may require standing, walking, and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts, overtime, or weekend support based on mission needs.

The salary range for this position is $102,000 - $152,900. Compensation offered will depend on qualifications, experience, work location, and business considerations. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. Additional compensation and benefits may be available based on role eligibility.
