The Systems Management Analyst plays a critical role in supporting enterprise Distributed and Mainframe operations and job scheduling processes. This position ensures system reliability, security, and performance across multiple platforms, with a strong emphasis on job scheduling, system monitoring, recovering batch failures and problem ticket handling. The analyst collaborates with operations, application teams, and infrastructure groups to maintain compliance and optimize system workflows.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support 120+ Mainframe and Distributed Applications with their batch runs (app 12 million runs per mo)
  • Work with application support teams on remediation of batch failures, understanding tight SLAs are in play
  • Using appropriate monitoring tools, ensure any delays to batch are dealt with through proper escalations
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of educational courses as outlined by Shift Manager
  • 3+ years of experience and knowledge of Batch Scheduling tools such as BMC, TWS, or CA7
  • 3+ years of experience and working knowledge of Mainframe online systems such as CICS, and DB2
  • 2+ years an IT Operations role with progressive responsibility
  • Basic knowledge of VMS. (Basic Unix command knowledge can be supplemented)
  • Basic knowledge of CICS and MVS commands.
  • General knowledge of Distributed Systems. (Unix and Wintel OS)
  • General knowledge of Distributed Systems. (Unix and Wintel OS)
  • General knowledge of Distributed Backup Software (i.e. Veritas, TSM)
  • Working knowledge of Scheduling Systems. Knowledge of TWS/OPC a plus
  • Proven excellent People Skills
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven optimistic "can do" attitude
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills
  • Demonstrated ability and eagerness to learn and succeed
  • Demonstrated willingness to be stretched out of comfort zone
  • Demonstrated willingness to adjust shift. An open position may be on an off shift

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience may be considered as a substitute
  • Experienced with Incident, Change, and Problem Management (HPSM, Service Now, Remedy)
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management
  • Data Center Best Practices
  • Proven solid communication and documentation skills
