This position is responsible for implementing enhancements to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago (FRBC) computing environment, including programming, installation, and solutions engineering. Responsibilities include utilizing technical knowledge to plan, design, and implement infrastructure enhancements and problem resolution for department and customers. May provide work direction and assignment as well as training to lower-level employees.

  • Supports moderately complex day-to-day operations and engineering activities including, but not limited to application, software, and infrastructure as a service.
  • Responsible for the reliability, performance, recoverability, and security ofapplications and various FRBC software products running on Linux and Windows servers (like upgrading, patching, troubleshooting, log analysis, etc.)
  • This position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Atlassian suite of applications and tools, Bitbucket, Jira, Jira Cloud and other SaaS services.
  • Monitors, investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves issues within the computing environment.
  • Analyzes, defines, develops, and implements new and existing system and service requirements.
  • Researches, designs, evaluates, and recommends enhancements for platform and product management.
  • Implements and maintains system standards, processes, and security specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across organization, gather requirements to develop, and deliver custom templates, workflows (automation) using Atlassian products.
  • Develop custom templates in JIRA to manage projects, Epic's, issues/tasks for entire organization
  • Design, develop, and administer Atlassian products, not limiting to deploying custom plugins for JIRA as well as evaluating plugins from marketplace.
  • Implements, operates, monitors and tests product performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, and works with developers and vendors to implement fixes.
  • Creates and reviews documentation for moderately complex systems, SaaS platforms, best practices and other environments.
  • Writes and maintains custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Responsible for configuring, managing and maintaining multiple SaaS services (Jira Cloud and other SaaS platforms).
  • Monitor and work with vendors for SaaS services for platform, performance and availability issues.
  • Participate in team on-call rotation.


Your Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of direct experience supporting Atlassian Data Center suite of Applications (JIRA, Bitbucket, CROWD, & Ad-ons), Atlassian Cloud (Jira Cloud)
  • Possesses and applies both specific and broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the field of specialization to complete assignments
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Linux, Microsoft Windows
  • Knowledge of any of the following: Atlassian Data Center suite of Applications (JIRA, Bitbucket, CROWD, & Add-ons), Atlassian Cloud (Jira Cloud), Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Basic knowledge and experience in scripting Python, automation, and architecture of systems.
