Summary:
As a FRFS Cloud Specialist (AWS)/ SRE you will serve as a lead technical operations expert responsible for the design, implementation, and support of cloud based information technology solutions in current and future state. In this role you will be building, maintaining, and operationalizing infrastructure, security services, and system components in commercial or government cloud service providers to deliver highly available and scalable services.
The level of work required is considered advanced and staff must be able to work under minimal supervision. This job does not have direct reports.
This role will be titled internally differently than the title posted.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead the operational design, maintenance, and operation of AWS cloud based platform.
- Lead discussion and provide guidance to technical teams regarding operational, technical, and procedural best practices and functional experience
- Lead automation efforts to minimize manual work and ensure transparency in all aspects of the secure cloud ecosystem
- Lead efforts with stakeholders to obtain and translate requirements into technical implementations
- Lead efforts to integrate existing legacy systems with proposed systems by identifying gaps between the current and future state, and leading the development and implementation of solutions
- Oversee and develop continuous delivery and continuous integration frameworks and tools
- Setup framework, processes, and operations for infrastructure as code and automation
- Lead technical and end-user resources to execute detailed tests and analyze testing results.
- Document and communicate issues, solutions, and timelines to appropriate stakeholders
- Assist with implementation of customer side monitoring tools and may lead operation outage events
- Provide timely/responsive technical support and leadership both within and across departments and applications including rotational on call support
- Support production with expertise in monitoring and analytics tools (e.g., Grafana, Dynatrace)
Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent background or experience
- 5+ years working with cloud based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) in an enterprise environment
- 7+ years software engineering experience in a team based environment
- Advanced experience integrating legacy platforms and applications with cloud based systems
- Advanced experience with infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, etc.)
- Advanced experience with system configuration tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.)
- Advanced experience with implementing architectural frameworks (Service Oriented Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, etc.)
- Advanced experience developing solutions in an iterative (Agile) approach Advanced experience with integrating SaaS providers and working in a multivendor integrated environment Advanced experience with source code management tools (Git, SVN, etc.)
- Advanced experience with CI/build tools Advanced experience with various programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
- Advanced experience with Web Services, API, REST, RPC
- Advanced knowledge of cloud based platforms AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
- Strong understanding of advanced networking concepts
- Advanced experience with deploying, managing, operating and monitoring of applications in scalable, highly available and fault tolerant data centers (both on premise and hosted)
- Advanced experience learning, sharing, and implementing best practices with the ability to define operational processes, implement DevOps, deployment checklists, etc.
Your Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced ability to solve problems by considering available information, prioritizing and making timely decisions; correlate data using standard business and technology tools and approaches, spot trends and apply sound security and risk management principles
- Advanced ability to assess necessary activities and prioritize for completion of assignments using excellent time management, prioritization skills and work ethic
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
- Must be able to create and deliver presentations to technical and/or business audience.
- Advanced ability in use of typical office-related technical tools such as Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint and Office
- Advanced ability in use of Atlassian suite of products such as Confluence and Jira.

Additional Requirements:
- This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week in office.
