Title: Systems Engineer
Duties: As a Systems Engineer, you will work closely with the IT operations, product engineering, data services, and data analysis teams to provide database development/administrative technical enablement. You will provide recommendations on database architecture, design and implementation; establish database design conventions in best practice; assure conventions and standards are compliant and fully documented; and work with data modelers to review and optimize logical data models and implement them in physical database schemas using data modeling tools. This Systems Engineer will communicate with non-technical users and technical personnel on business and product delivery teams as well as support and participate in the database change management and deployment processes. You will develop and implement stored procedure verification tools that assist developers in troubleshooting and performance improvement; develop and implement procedures for the synchronization between different database environments; and perform database development and administrative technical enablement, and collaboration with application team members, assigned to Agile story work, elaboration exercises. ITOPS duties may include: Ticket handling, audit, plan, patch, test, and implementing changes. Responsibilities may also include documenting processes, procedures, configuration settings and infrastructure design for business continuity and disaster recovery; troubleshooting all levels of server, application and network issues; documenting, tracking and monitoring technical issues to ensure timely resolution; and providing status reports.
Requirements: Must have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; Financial Accounting & Auditing, Computer Systems & Applications, Industrial & Organizational Psychology; Computer Information Systems, or related and 5 years of database administration experience in a large retail environment, including:
Postgres 9, 12, replication, backup and recovery access management
Oracle 12c, 19c: RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate
Manage database availability, Tablespace management, Role management, maintain optimal Performance, Postgres utilities pg_ctl, psql for Mysql, Postgres, and Oracle
Provision MySQL, Postgres and Oracle instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations, replication configuration for Mysql and Postgres and Oracle
Database schema design including logical and physical for large scale, highly available application systems
RedHat, CentOS
ITSM/ITIL support processes and methodologies, incident management, change control management, problem management
Employer will accept 3 years of undergraduate level coursework in lieu of a 4-year bachelor’s degree.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Financial Accounting and Auditing, Computer Systems and Applications, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field
- Three years of undergraduate coursework may substitute for a four-year bachelor's degree
