ANA is headquartered in Henderson, Nevada with locations in Cypress, California and Spartanburg, South Carolina. ANA is growing and scaling and we are seeking a Systems Engineer in an onsite position in Henderson, Nevada.

We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the development of next-generation hybrid power generation and energy systems. Working alongside experienced engineers, this role assists with translating stakeholder needs into clear product functions, system requirements, architectures, interfaces, and verification criteria.

The ideal candidate is a structured systems thinker interested in how electrical, mechanical, controls/software, thermal, manufacturing, and service considerations come together in a complete product. This position contributes from early concepts and trade studies through prototype integration, validation, production release, and continuous improvement.

The position is fully onsite, and the work schedule is weekdays from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This role reports to the Senior Electrical Systems Engineer.

Role & Responsibilities:

    Product Functions & System Requirements:

  • Support the definition of high-level product functions, use cases, operating modes, state transitions, and expected behaviors for new products and major product updates.
  • Assist with translating stakeholder needs into clear, measurable, and verifiable system requirements and specifications, including performance budgets and operating limits for power, energy, efficiency, temperature, duty cycle, transient response, interfaces, environment, durability, safety, serviceability, cost, and regulatory constraints.
  • Assist with allocating system requirements to electrical, mechanical, controls/software, thermal, and other subsystems; help identify owners, dependencies, assumptions, and open technical decisions.
  • System Architecture & Interface Definition:

  • Support the development and maintenance of functional architectures, system block diagrams, state diagrams, operating sequences, interface-control documents, and interface matrices covering power, I/O, CAN/J1939 communications, mechanical and thermal connections, and software dependencies.
  • Participate in defining hardware, software, communications, mechanical, thermal, and user interfaces, including normal, degraded, faulted, diagnostic, service, recovery, startup, and shutdown behavior.
  • Contribute to system trade studies and technical reviews; review supplier specifications, manuals, drawings, and interface documentation to help identify gaps, conflicts, deviations, risks, and open decisions.
  • Risk Management, DFMEA & Product Documentation:

  • Support system-level DFMEA activities, including preparation for cross-functional workshops, identification of functions and failure modes, evaluation of effects and causes, definition of controls, and tracking of risk-reduction actions.
  • Participate in related product-risk activities such as hazard analysis, fault-response definition, design assumptions, lessons-learned reviews, and safety or compliance assessments.
  • Maintain requirements traceability, specifications, interface documents, product-variant baselines, risk records, integration issue trackers, and decision logs under revision control; assist with change-impact assessments across requirements, interfaces, DFMEAs, and verification activities, and track assigned actions to closure.
  • Verification, Integration & Product Support:

  • Assist with developing and maintaining system DVP&R documentation by translating requirements and DFMEA controls into verification methods, test procedures, pass/fail criteria, assigned responsibilities, test status, and objective validation evidence.
  • Support prototype integration, commissioning, inverter and electric-motor tuning, system testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations; help document parameter changes and incorporate results, field feedback, manufacturing input, and lessons learned into updated requirements, specifications, DFMEAs, and future designs.
  • Assist with regression testing following hardware changes, software releases, calibration updates, or supplier component changes; document deviations and update verification records and supporting evidence.
  • Other duties as assigned
